Early Spring!

Spring is so close, 70’s at the homestead, and we have already had our first week long rain! We have seeds already growing and have secured this years new flock of ducks and chickens to replace our older flock! Soon these birds will be big enough to place outside to get used to their new home for the next few years. We got all these babies at Cackle Hatchery in Lebanon, MO. The ducks are Peking ducks- 6 hens and 1 drake. The chickens are 15 Cinnamon Queens, 12 Buff Orpington hens and 1 barred rock rooster. We will be getting one more Barred Rock roo, soon to watch over and fertilize the 10 buff. We raise the Buff for setting and meat and we raise the CQ’s and ducks for eggs. Enjoy!
